Das Museum für Kommunikation Berlin feiert Klimabewusstsein und Queerness! Was beide Haltungen verbindet? Sie stehen für kollektives und inklusives Handeln. Zur Langen Nacht der Museen setzen wir ein Zeichen mit queer-feministischen, intersektionalen und aktivistischen Positionen. Der Höhepunkt des Abends ist ein schillernder Vogue-Ball. Strike a pose!
Davor erwartet die Besucher:innen: Pflanzen-Mikroben-Tattoos, eine Climate Speakers’ Corner, eine filmische Dokumentation zu Queer Gardening, eine Performance mit dem geheimen Klang der Pflanzen, ein Kinderprogramm sowie dialogische, queere und geheimnisvolle Führungen durch die Ausstellungen und zur Rohrpost.
The Museum of Communication Berlin celebrates climate awareness and queerness! What do both attitudes have in common? They stand for collective and inclusive action. For the Long Night of Museums we set an example with queer-feminist, intersectional and activist positions. The highlight of the evening is a dazzling, Vogue Ball. Strike a pose!
Before this highlight, visitors can look forward to plant-microbe tattoos, a Climate Speakers‘ Corner, a film documentary on queer gardening, a performance with the secret sound of plants, a children’s programme and dialogue-based, queer and mysterious tours of the exhibitions and the pneumatic tube system.

Wie kann der Fokus auf die am meisten betroffenen Communitys gelegt werden? / The focus is on the urgency of climate protection and its communication strategies. How can the focus be placed on the communities most affected?

Express-Führung: Die Rohrpost. Mobilität der Zukunft oder Rohrkrepierer? / Express-Tour: Pneumatic Post: The mobility of the future, or pipe burst? (German only)
Die Berliner Rohrpost ist fast verschwunden – bis auf die letzte verbliebene Rohrpostanlage im Keller des Museums für Kommunikation Berlin, ein Stück des schnellsten Transportsystems für innerstädtische Kommunikation im 20. Jahrhundert. Die Rohrpost regte schon früh zu Zukunftsvisionen über die menschliche Mobilität an und dient bis heute als Inspiration für innovative Logistikideen / Berlin’s pneumatic tube system has almost disappeared…or has it? The last remaining piece of what was once considered the fastest transportation system for inner-city communication in the 20th century has been preserved in the cellar of the Museum of Communication Berlin. The pneumatic tube system inspired visions of the future of human mobility early on and still serves as inspiration for innovative logistics ideas today. Explore all of this with our Express-Tour (only in German).

24 LGBTQIA+-Gärtner:innen führen in den USA und Kanada durch ihre Gärten und zeigen queere Gartengestaltungskonzepte. Die Konzepte richten sich gegen ausbeuterische Ökologien und hegemoniale Naturverhältnisse, welche den Menschen über die Natur stellen. / 24 LGBTQIA+ gardeners in the USA and Canada show queer garden design concepts in their gardens. The concepts are directed against exploitative ecologies and hegemonic relationships to nature that place humans above nature.

Meet your microbiome! Lecture-Performance und Mikroben-Tattoo-Workshop / Meet your microbiome! Lecture performance and microbe tattoo workshop (German only)
Das Tätowieren als subkulturelle Praxis ist eng mit queeren Fragen rund um Marginalisierungen und Codes gegenseitigen Erkennens verbunden. In einer spielerischen Lecture-Performance mit Ella von der Haide gehen die Teilnehmer:innen dem Verhältnis von Mensch und Natur nach, experimentieren mit ihrer Rolle als symbiotischer Bestandteil von Mikrobenhabitaten und tätowieren abwaschbare Pflanzen-Mikroben-Tattoos. / Tattooing as a subcultural practice is closely linked to queer issues of marginalisation and codes of mutual recognition. In a playful lecture performance with Ella von der Haide, participants will explore the relationship between humans and nature, experiment with their role as symbiotic components of microbial habitats and tattoo washable plant-microbe tattoos.

WANTED: Queerfeministische, kritische und intersektionale Perspektiven zum Klimawandel
In der Speakers‘ Corner berichten Expert:innen über ihre Ideen, Projekte und ihre Motivation, sich für eine integrative Klimastrategie einzusetzen. Auch die Besucher:innen sind eingeladen, sich in die Climate Speakers’ Corner einzubringen. / WANTED: Queerfeminist, critical and intersectional perspectives on climate change. In the Speakers‘ Corner, experts will talk about their ideas, projects and their motivation to advocate for an inclusive climate strategy. Visitors are also invited to contribute to the Climate Speakers‘ Corner.

Der geheime Klang der Pflanzen. Musik-Performance / The secret sound of plants. Music performance
Mélodie Melak schließt selbstgebaute Synthesizer an Pflanzen an. Die Pflanzen, die über einen eigenen, einzigartigen „Ton“ verfügen, formen aufgrund physiologischer Reaktionen den Klang. Es entsteht Musik an der Schnittstelle von Minimalismus und Noise Drone. / Mélodie Melak connects self-made synthesisers to plants. The plants, which have their own unique „sound“, shape the sound based on physiological reactions. The result is music at the interface of minimalism and noise drone.

Earthly Delights: Vogue Ball (ca. 23 Uhr) & Performances (ab 22 Uhr)
Strike a Pose! Die Ballroom-Community veranstaltet einen spektakulären Ball. Der Museumslichthof wird zur Bühne für expressiven Tanz, atemberaubende Mode, fantasievolle Maskeraden und friedlichen Wettbewerb.
Ein femme-queerer Abend voller irdischer Freuden präsentiert von Fifi Fantôme & Ambrosia: eine neu gedachte Welt, wo Queerness und Nachhaltigkeit zusammen florieren und eine andere Perspektive auf den Klimawandel entsteht. Großartige Tänzer:innen und Berlins Ballroom Community beleuchten diese symbiotische Beziehung: Sie versuchen, Klimaschutz innerhalb eines transformativen gesellschaftlichen Kontexts neu zu betrachten. Fifi Fantôme kuratiert immersive Performances mit Live-Musik und Luftakrobatik und Legendary Ambrosia und LaQuéfa 007 hosten den Earthly Delights Mini Ball. / Strike a Pose! The ballroom community is organising a spectacular ball. The museumlichthof becomes a stage for expressive dance, breathtaking fashion, imaginative masquerades and peaceful competition. A femme queer evening of earthly delights presented by Fifi Fantôme & Ambrosia: a reimagined world where queerness and sustainability flourish together and a different perspective on climate change emerges. Great dancers and Berlin’s ballroom community shed light on this symbiotic relationship: they try to rethink climate protection within a transformative social context. Fifi Fantôme curates the performances with live instrumentalist and Legendary Ambrosia and LaQuèfa 007 host the Earthly Delights Mini Ball.
