Everything on offer
11 February to 8 March 2026 (in German only)
The internet is the world’s largest virtual supermarket: it has (almost) everything on offer, but nothing is for free. Because behind every offer there are interests: economic, political, social. The travelling exhibition ‘Everything on offer’, conceived by HateAid und neuland & gestalten, looks behind the virtual shelves and asks: Who is actually controlling whom here?
Digital spaces connect us, create visibility, and make everyday life and communication easier. At the same time, this ‘everything, anytime, anywhere’ makes us vulnerable. The downsides range from disinformation and polarisation to smear campaigns and digital violence. From 2027, the exhibition will focus on precisely these ambivalences: the fascination of the digital world as well as its risks for individuals and our democratic public sphere. The Museum for Communication Berlin is showing selected excerpts from it in advance.
